Paul Hadfield as:
General Foolishness

the general balancing on a ladder

General Foolishness is a zany, fast-paced Clown Theater program that brings children and adults together in a celebration of laughter. Combining a broad array of circus skills, music, and physical comedy, the General's self-importance magnifies his foibles to hilarious proportions. The show includes juggling, slapstick comedy, and lots of audience participation in a zany, madcap adventure.

"Our audiences are still talking about your super duper stunts and utterly delightful performances at The National Theatre."-The National Theatre, Washington, D.C.

The show begins with the General marching to the top of an unsupported ladder and blowing reveille, and ends with a demonstration of "The Big One," as he juggles clubs atop a six foot unicycle. In between, there are spinning plates, a Houdini escape, apple juggling, music, dancing, audience participation and comically controlled chaos.

"The performances of General Foolishness were hilarious, aristic, charming, wacky and totally enjoyed by all our audiences. Your artistic skills and your way with an audience are exceptional. -Director, Discovery Theater, Washington, D.C.general with boy spinning plates

The personification of a play on words, General Foolishness is a true clown. Paul Hadfield's General is arrogant yet whimsically childish, dexterous yet painfully clumsy. Unlike much of today's entertainment, the show truly appeals to both children and adults.

"The best part of his act is that the children and parents enjoy it equally as much. I highly recommend him for school assemblies and other events" -Cultural Arts Chair, Stratford Landing Elementary, Fairfax, VA

"It's been a very, very long time since I laughed so much." -Principal, Capital Hill Cluster School Washington, D.C.drawing of the general on a ladder

"Thank you for the show. My favorite part was when genrel foolishneses ran into the door. Your friend, Collin." -Collin, 1st Grader

"I think you are so funny. So do some of my friends.Well, now that I moved from Cape St. Claire School to Elkridge Elementary School, my friends there don't think your that funny. So, I was wondering if you could come in and do a show for my school. That is if your not booked. Are you? I would appreciate it if you could because I know it would make the kids laugh so much if you did a show there. I know it will." -an email from Brianna, now at Watkins Mill Elementary School
